Grains in Relation
Grain to grain
On the right hand side click button you can access the related grains by clicking on it. It defaults to being displayed as soon as you arrive at a grain so that you can firstly see that there are related grains. To more easily read the grain you are on just click on the arrow and it will fold away as you can see below.
You can see if the grains relate to pre-or post knowledge in this area of study. They are organised into categories of relationship: Concept-illustration, Beginning-Extension, Proximity etc.
We’ll choose this one and click on it.
Grain to grain in reverse
We’ve arrived at our related grain. Now if we look back at the right-hand panel of grain-grain relationships we can see a link back to our first grain.
Grain to Grain relations are two-way relationships which enable you to travel across modules and areas.
Cross language links
Here our grain is in English but it has a cross language link to another grain which is in French.
Grains and fruit can be in any language, even though the website structure is limited to English and French. Therefore, contributing material on this site is easy as no translation is required. Visitors can read any material they wish- they are only limited to their own knowledge in other languages. It is not the purpose of this site to provide translations. Some grains will be similar to other materials in other languages. These are simply linked, not translated.
A grain’s relationship with its fruit
New pathway, new Area, new Grain – note there is a fruit attached. We will click on the fruit.
When you click on the Fruit it will open via hyperlink to wherever it is stored. This is how it looks (a website article) when accessed at its host location. Patience may be required when waiting for some fruit to download.
