How to create and manage a module
Modules are themes of study. They contain Areas which in turn contain Grains linked via pathways. Go to the Admin Dashboard page (below left) and click the Administer Module option (you’ll then see the screen as per below right)…Create new module.
Here’s how we fill in the required information – an example – the BESTModule
Editing the module information
To Edit Module information you have two ways to do that: 1. via the Admin Dashboard menu (Administer Modules) or 2. go to the Home page and select a module eg. BEST - biodiversity
Click on the Edit tab
There’s a help page for creating or changing a module or a page
This is accessible from the Dashboard. Follow the suggestions in the order recommended.
This is covered again in Appendix A2.5
Create a new module
If your material does not fit into any of the existing modules just create your own. Decide on the name of the new module. Write a description of what the module will be all about -theme, key learning. Click SAVE.
If you click on the List tab you will see a list of modules on site. It is easy to edit them from here if you wish to later.
If you click on List of all Modules (Dashboard/Administer modules) this provides another way to get to the same place as above.
If you go back to the Dashboard and click List of all module start pages you will arrive at this page and you can edit your module start page. This part of the process is very important. If you do not add a module start page it will not appear in the table of contents nor will it appear when you click on the title of the module on the home page. Later you will need to link your Grains and Areas to your new module via compose pathways.
If you want to change anything about your module start page click on the module eg BEST and you will see this...
