Attaching fruit to grains
Go to the Dashboard page in the admin section and choose Add Fruit.
Work your way methodically through the fields required as shown overleaf.
- Give it a TITLE appropriate to its topic or context
- Give the fruit a NUMBER
- DESCRIPTIONof the fruit needs a sentence or two on what type of fruit it is: a video or pdf or article or sound file and what sort of information could be contained in it.
- Insert the HYPERLINK to the current location of the file
- Add the NAME of the file (which may be different to the name of the fruit)
- What is the STATUS/who is creating this addition? Choose from the drop down menu
- Click on the link to Authoring information and add in your name
- Click SAVE
Check that the link works-this is critical.
An example of a fruit
Here’s a fruitand we have clicked the Edittab.
This is a copy of thesis material linked to a grain. It is stored in the cauldron and is accessed via the link contained in the grain which it supports.
If the location of where the fruit is stored changes, you need to amend the hyperlink, or indeed any of the appropriate fields as above.
When you test the link the fruit will appear as it will appear for site visitors. Here it is…
The Fruitbowl
Managing the fruit
From Admin Dashboardyou can access a list of all fruit. They are contained in the database known as the fruitbowl.
If we chose to edit the last fruit in the above list we would end up with this page and we would just amend field content as we needed.
