Step 5 - Communicate
Method:
This step includes, but is not limited to, the final reporting stages of an evaluation exercise. Communication must and will take place around all aspects of the social learning process and its outcomes (e.g., the framing of evaluation tasks, the selection of indicators, the determination of reference values (by whom, for whom?), and the reporting of outcomes of multi-criteria evaluations or other evaluation exercises).
Communication involves identifying and working with all the stakeholders but in this Integraal process it specifically refers to how you disseminate the results of your assessment/evaluation. It may also lead to part of step 6, meaning communicating the experience through a published article. You need to choose what you say to whom and how you will say it.
Advice from REEDS:
REEDS can provide advice on your communication strategy, and will include information on how to use The Forest of Brocéliande which is where your case can be documented for future learning. [see also Communication Plan for the EJOLT on ppt].Visit “communication information” in the Forest of Brocéliande module ‘EJOLT’ to gain a generic idea of what this refers to.
It will be useful to read through the communication guide supplied by REEDS (“Choosing communication channels, identifying audiences”) before working through step 2 of the Integraal process as some of the stakeholders are likely to be future audiences for your evaluation communication.
A list of possible communication channels to choose from can be supplied as well as examples of how these might be used. Information on identifying appropriate audiences for your communications will also be available. There is already information on how to write a media release and how to deal with the various forms of media in general, available in the EJOLT Dissemination folder of the DROPBOX.
Output:
The choice of communication channels used to report on your evaluation exercise becomes part of the teaching material in the Forest of Brocéliande.
