K4U assessment(KAU)

K4Us defines a performance evaluation. We use the acronym KRR, which stands for KerBabel Representation Rack. "Ker" or "KerBabel" is a common prefix of tools developed for ePLANETe.

This object is a child of a KRR specifically built to target a K4U evaluation. The K4U deals with top-goals(issues) and sub-goals. Doing a K4U means building an assessment for a particular Worksite. First a KRR build the Indicator Candidates, then this indicators are used in the K4U to assess the Worksite. A specific algorithm converts and agregates each indicators of the sub-goals and computes a global value for each top-goal(or issue). It produces a spider diagram per object to compare.

Requirements for new K4U creation

  • A K4U belongs to a KRR. So the KRR should exist first(following the KRR requirements),
  • the parent Woksite of a KRR should have a crosslink with a Kik(object of the Indicator Gallery), so the Kik should exist first,
  • a K4U must be crosslinked with a K4U Algorithm(object of the Methods&Tools Gallery), so the K4U Algorithm should exist first.
  • each Indicator of the Kik must be crosslinked with a "Method and Tool" contenttype object(object of the Method&Tools Gallery), so the Indicators-to-Methods&Tools crosslinks should exist first,

K4U profile creation

Each ePLANETe object has a profile. In a complex Gallery, fields of objects may be key features. So it is important to choose carefully some values in order to make the object work as expected.

A K4U is a child of a KRR and thus it uses the KRR resources(Knowledge Carriers, Objects to Compare and Issues axis values, and crosslinks).

Key feature fields:

  • Representation Rack, selects the KRR parent and resources. It reuses the 3 axis values: Knowledge Carriers, Objects to Compare and Issues(with sub-goals)
  • Community, this selection list put permission boundaries to the object, so only member of the Community selected here will be able to see and manage the K4U.
  • Status, defines whether if the K4U is still active or not. If closed, the Stakeholder cannot add any new values. Deliberation can be viewed only. You may reopen it later on. It is just a kind of lock/unlock mecanism.

To complete the profile the K4U must be crosslinked to one or more K4U Algorithm(object of the Methods&Tools Gallery, formely named "B4U Algorithm"). It provides the assessment algorithm. Crosslinking more than one K4U algorithm may be interesting to compare different results of an identical assessment. Please read the K4U Algorithm help page inside the Method&Tools Gallery to understand how it works.

Doing the assessment

Open a K4U and select the "Build your assessment" tab or, choose the "Mutlicriteria Evaluation / K4U assessment" option of the main menu and click on the grid icon of the Actions column(the first one from left to right).

A grid should show up otherwise check that the requirements and profile is setup as explained above.

This grid has four dimensions:

  • Category of Knowledge carriers(or Group of experts), displayed as radio button selector,
  • K4U Algorithm.s, displayed as top tabs,
  • Objects to Compare, displayed in columns,
  • Issues(top-goals) and sub-goals, displayed in rows.

First, you must select the "To what group of experts do you belong" radio button. You must be a member of the group to change the datas of the grid.
