The UVSQ and Albion College, Michigan have signed an agreement and are working together to implement two new study options for Albion College Students : a Major in Sustainability Studies for their Bachelor of Arts degree offer as well as a one year course based at the UVSQ culminating in a Certificate of Sustainability Studies.

Cette thèse, débutée en novembre 2011 par Benoît Mougenot, porte sur le développement de modèles économiques issus de l’économie de la fonctionnalité et appliqués au territoire du Sud des Yvelines. Ce travail a pour objectif la mise en place d’indicateurs sur la valeur et la richesse créée par un ensemble de services, support de nouveau modèle de croissance « dématérialisée » et participant au développement durable des territoires.

Anne Blanchard défendra sa thèse intitulée "Reflexive Interdisciplinarity - Supporting the dialogue on the role of science for climate change" ce 21 décembre 2011, à Bergen en Norvège. Il s'agit d'une thèse en co-tutelle avec le "Center for the Study of the Sciences and the Humanities" de l'Université de Bergen (co-directeur Roger Strand).

An international Symposium on Ecological Debt took place in Paris on November 7th. It gathered international experts on the subject, as well as speakers from different countries. Several members of EJOLT, an international project on Environmental Justice Organisations, Liabilities and Trade in which REEDS participates, were participating, including two keynote speakers : Leida Rijnhout (ANPED) and Esperanza Martinez (Accion Ecologica).

La thèse en Economie Ecologique de Richard Loiret (début : mai 2010) : Valeur(s) de l'Ecodéveloppement, part de constats reliés systémiquement à plusieurs échelles conceptuelles de problématiques. Les questions se posent actuellement ainsi, chaque réponse résolvant ou non partie des questions des autres niveaux. NI : Comment territorialiser le passif de l'empreinte écologique nationale ? NII : Comment mesurer l'actif des territoires "naturels", ou biodiversité ? NIII : Existe t-il une contradiction au principe de Carnot ? Et si oui laquelle ? Renewable energies, suitable to integrate electricity grids of middle and high tensions and to decentralize and diversify energy production portfolios, are considered as an optimal solution to tackle with major challenges in the 21st century. However, to benefit from low-carbon sources, energy systems will adopt new Smartgrid concept to distribute energy efficiently in decentralized networks of production and consumption, to be ‘self-healing’ or adaptive to changes and resilient to failures.
