An international Symposium on Ecological Debt took place in Paris on November 7th. It gathered international experts on the subject, as well as speakers from different countries. Several members of EJOLT, an international project on Environmental Justice Organisations, Liabilities and Trade in which REEDS participates, were participating, including two keynote speakers : Leida Rijnhout (ANPED) and Esperanza Martinez (Accion Ecologica).

La thèse en Economie Ecologique de Richard Loiret (début : mai 2010) : Valeur(s) de l'Ecodéveloppement, part de constats reliés systémiquement à plusieurs échelles conceptuelles de problématiques. Les questions se posent actuellement ainsi, chaque réponse résolvant ou non partie des questions des autres niveaux. NI : Comment territorialiser le passif de l'empreinte écologique nationale ? NII : Comment mesurer l'actif des territoires "naturels", ou biodiversité ? NIII : Existe t-il une contradiction au principe de Carnot ? Et si oui laquelle ? Climate-KIC, the Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC), is an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) to drive innovation in the area of climate change through integrated and creative partnerships between business, academic and public institutions. Launched in December 2009, just one week after the 15th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of Parties in Copenhagen.

La thèse de doctorat en Sciences économiques de Pierre-Nicolas GRISEL est construite à partir de la dynamique agraire de la région sud-ouest du municipe de Nova Friburgo au Brésil en étudiant les déterminants écologiques et économiques des changements de pratiques agricoles de communautés d'agriculteurs. Plus précisément le travail porte sur le mode de gouvernance communautaire actuel qui encadre l’adoption de pratiques agro-écologiques comme référence pour les systèmes de production agricoles.

REEDS International Centre for Research in Ecological Economics, Eco-innovation and Tool Development for Sustainability is a key player in a major European project to assist environmental justice organisations to develop assessment tools and scientific methodologies in the struggle for environmental justice. In particular, REEDS will be providing assistance in the areas of nuclear energy, oil and gas extraction and climate change, environmentl health and risk assessment, liabilities and valuation.
