Pour la troisième année consécutive, l’OVSQ accueille les étudiants de l'école d'été "Academy of Climate Innovation - The Journey .L’European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) a été créé en 2009 avec pour objectif de dynamiser l’innovation en Europe. Un consortium de prestigieuses universités, écoles, centres de recherches et entreprises européennes désireuses de collaborer à l’innovation pour la limitation du changement climatique et l’adaptation à ses impacts a ainsi vu le jour. Ce consortium forme aujourd’hui la "Knowledge and Innovation Community" Climate-KIC .

Liz ROSALES intègre REEDS comme stagiaire à partir de mai 2012 pour une durée de 5 mois, dans le cadre de sa formation en Master 2 Médiation de Connaissances Environnementales de l’Université de Versailles-Saint Quentin. Dans le cadre de stage, Liz va participer à l’analyse et la structuration d’un cadre d’évaluation multicritères pour l’identification des sites où « laisser les ressources fossiles dans le sol », qui est un des objectifs du projet EJOLT. Cela relève entre autres, d’un processus continu de médiation entre partenaires, pour l’aboutissement complet des objectifs.

The UVSQ and Albion College, Michigan have signed an agreement and are working together to implement two new study options for Albion College Students : a Major in Sustainability Studies for their Bachelor of Arts degree offer as well as a one year course based at the UVSQ culminating in a Certificate of Sustainability Studies.

The second call is now open: 14 further researchers to be recruited in Paris region. UniverSud Paris together with its founders University Paris-Sud, University Versailles Saint-Quentin-en Yvelines, University Evry-Val-d’Essonne, Ecole Centrale Paris, ENS Cachan, launches on January 1st until 31st March 2012, the second call for applications of the European project RBUCE-UP.

An international Symposium on Ecological Debt took place in Paris on November 7th. It gathered international experts on the subject, as well as speakers from different countries. Several members of EJOLT, an international project on Environmental Justice Organisations, Liabilities and Trade in which REEDS participates, were participating, including two keynote speakers : Leida Rijnhout (ANPED) and Esperanza Martinez (Accion Ecologica).

REEDS member Frances Harrison attended a conference on a topic which is not yet often discussed; that of intergenerational fairness. The conference, based in Budapest, Hungary in October 2011, was jointly hosted by the European Institute of Innovation & Technology and WHAT IF - sustainability as intergenerational fairness.

REEDS International Centre for Research in Ecological Economics, Eco-innovation and Tool Development for Sustainability is a key player in a major European project to assist environmental justice organisations to develop assessment tools and scientific methodologies in the struggle for environmental justice. In particular, REEDS will be providing assistance in the areas of nuclear energy, oil and gas extraction and climate change, environmentl health and risk assessment, liabilities and valuation.
